Founded in 2017 by Salimatu Amabebe and art directed by Annika Izora, Black Feast is a food and art event celebrating Black artists and writers. In the summer of 2020, Black Feast launched a new project—Love Letters to Black Folks—a free event offering plant-based desserts, care packages and love letters to the Black community. All donations go towards providing delicious food for the community and labor costs to pay their incredible staff.

“At our table, guests participate in an experience that weaves together food and art, where Salimatu works with Black artists to create a four-course vegan, gluten-free, and cane sugar free gourmet meal based off of the artist’s work.

This meal is created as a celebration, a dance, and an offering. This meal is created for you.” - Black Feast
